Partner News: Telx Welcomes Expereo into Telx Ethernet Exchange
Expereo, a global wholesale provider of last-mile connectivity services, is the latest company to join the award-winning Telx Ethernet Exchange, a move that will help Expereo expand the reach of its own Ethernet service delivery footprint in the Metro New York City region.
Telx is an interconnection and data center provider in 15 strategic North American markets and a partner of Global Convergence Solutions (GCS (News - Alert)), a Next Gen Network Solutions rating and routing company.
"We are extremely excited about the opportunities presented by joining the Telx Ethernet Exchange community,” said Alphons Mulders, CEO of Expereo USA. “It will allow us to offer a greater choice of low latency connectivity services for our customers by tapping into the substantial hub of providers Telx offers at this important location in New York City. This implementation is the latest proof point of Expereo's plan to transform its previous virtual network operator business model into a full-service, hybrid network operator."
By joining the peering exchange in Telx's strategically located New York City data center at 111 8th Ave, Expereo will be able to continue expanding its service delivery footprint in the U.S. as well as open new business opportunities with other wholesale buyers and sellers of Ethernet.
Telx’s key location at 111 8th Ave. and its industry-leading communications service provider ecosystem weren’t the only things that made Telx stand out to Expereo, however, according to Mulder. Expereo also values Telx's highly knowledgeable and responsive support team.
"Not only were we impressed with Telx's technology and pricing structure, but their services team wowed us with their commitment to meeting all of our needs, including support with disaster recovery planning, backup services, training and tech support," Mulder said. "Telx's expertise goes beyond interconnection and colocation services by educating us on the provider landscape, and helps us extend our unique hybrid network operator business model here in the U.S."
The Telx Ethernet Exchange, an integral part of the Telx Interconnection Center, creates a community of Ethernet-enabled networks, providing simple, easy to access advanced IP products and network technologies. Included with the Telx Ethernet Exchange is the Telx Connect Portal, an advanced e-commerce tool connecting publishers, subscribers, providers and consumers with buyers and sellers of advanced network and application based services, according to Telx officials.
"We are pleased and proud to add Expereo to our growing Ethernet Exchange community at 111 8th Avenue -- the most strategic location in New York City to establish interconnection services," said Eric Shepcaro (News - Alert), CEO of Telx. "This location continues to be a key Point of Presence destination for global companies in need of a secure, low-latency interconnection facility that establishes fast and cost-effective market entry. We look forward to being part of Expereo's ongoing U.S. growth campaign and to meeting their connectivity needs."
Telx and Expereo will showcase their use of the Ethernet Exchange live at Light Reading's (News - Alert) Ethernet Expo, November 8-9, at the Hilton New York.
Telx is a partner of GCS, a proprietary rating and routing company. Recently, GCS launched a Carrier-to-Carrier (C2C) Portal as part of its OSS and BSS solution for communications service providers (CSPs). The GCS Dynamic Carrier Portal, a new B2B portal, will be delivered through GCS' cloud computing platform under a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News
- Alert)) pricing model. The portal will “reshape and significantly improve” how CSPs obtain and exchange information with their carrier customers and suppliers, according to company officials. Moreover, the portal will help extend the capabilities and functionality of the GCS Dynamic Route & Rate Management solution to the entire ecosystem.
